Eastern Region swears-in new women football executive members

The Eastern Regional Football Association (RFA) has sworn into office seven new executives members of the Eastern Regional Womens Football Committee to help organise women’s soccer league in the region.

Speaking at the swearing- in ceremony, Mr Abu Briamah , General Secretary of the Regional Football Association (RFA) said, it was time the region got together to organise a competitive womens soccer league because other regions seemed to be ahead of the region when it comes to womens football.

He said although there had been some challenges over the years that affected the organisation of soccer leagues in the region, this should not derail the focus of the region this time.

Mr Briamah urged all the newly sworn-in executives to bring their expertise on board to ensure that the region bounced back to its glorious days when it had women football clubs competing in the national leagues and players from the region in the national teams.

Mr. Briamah said the task ahead of the new committee would not be easy but with sacrifice, dedication, hard work and the support of the RFA the committee could achieve its aim.

The seven member committee is chaired by Madam Victoria Bobie-Ansah, Vice Chairman , Rev. Sintim Boadi , a pastor at the Holy Church of Christ, Secretary is Bob Tawia Tagoe, Assistant Secretary is Joseph Asiama Donkor a sports organizer at Fanteakwa, Treasurer , Rebecca Asabea-Kumi a class two referee, Organiser, Narh Peter , a football coach with Bernice Kwao as coach .

Madam Bobie-Ansah, speaking on behalf of the new committee , expressed appreciation of the members for the honour and assured that they would do their best to promote women football in the region.
