Renovate community Police stations – DCOP Kofi Boakye

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye has appealed to community leaders of Beposo in the Sekyere Central District to assist in the renovation of police stations in the area.

The police station is in a sorry state with dilapidated roofs on almost all the offices leaking when the rain falls.

The stations do not have washrooms, giving a lot of discomfort to the police staff working there.

DCOP Boakye, who was on a tour of the District, was visibly shocked at the sight of the wretched structure saying it did not befit the status of that community.

He called for its immediate renovation to enable the police personnel work in a decent environment to enable them give of their best to give protection to the law-abiding.

The Regional Commander re-echoed his resolve to bring crime to the barest minimum in the region adding that his administration would not hesitate to support communities with the population of 20,000 with a police station.

He advised the police personnel to make policing accessible and visible to the people by creating more snap checks and step up patrols in areas where armed robbery and other violent crimes are common.

He also paid courtesy calls on Nana Adu Agyei Bonsafo III, Nsutamanhene and Nana Boamah Kwabi IV, Beposohene.

The entourage again visited the graves of two personnel who lost their lives when attacked by robbers whilst on duty at the Otuasekan Rural Bank in 2001.
