Stanbic Bank Supports SWAG Awards

The annual Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards has received a GH¢10,000 boost from Stanbic Bank for the event scheduled for the Banquet Hall of the State House on May 17.

Head of Personal and Business Banking at Stanbic Bank, Nana Dwemoh Benneh, said at the presentation to the SWAG that ‘as a bank, our purpose is to make progress real in the lives of young people and the sporting community.

‘Encouraging our people to actively engage in sports would be helping them to live fuller lives. SWAG shares this vision and as such we are glad to be working with you in this direction over the years.

We look forward to further joining forces to develop sports in Ghana,’ Nana Dwemoh added.

President of SWAG, Ackah Anthony said his outfit was appreciative of Stanbic Bank’s continuous support of the association’s activities and promised to utilize it to push the awards to another level.

He urged Stanbic Bank to stay as allies of SWAG in its quest to develop sports and recognize distinguished sportsmen, sportswomen and personalities in the industry.

This year’s event is fashioned to celebrate the Black Stars’ third successive participation at the World Cup.

The launch of the 39th SWAG AWARDS Night is scheduled for the Media Centre of Accra Sports Stadium on Friday April 25, 2014.
