Monte-Carlo: Tsonga in the quarters

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga offered himself as a gift for his 29th birthday, the quarterfinals of the Masters 1000 Monaco.

Opposed to his immediate pursuer in the ATP rankings, Fabio Fognini for his knockout game, seeded No. 9 of the tournament in Monte Carlo, reversed a poor start into the game to seal the quarterfinal berth.

The World No. 12 first player loses the first round before imposing him game for a win after 1 hour 55 minutes, 5/7, 6/3, 6/0. This is the third victory for Franco-Congolese in as much confrontations against the Italian.

In the quarterfinals, Tsonga will face either Roger Federer or Lukas Rosol.

Also note the qualification without playing of the World No. 3 Stanislas Wawrinka who benefits from the withdrawal Spaniard Nicolas Almagro. Things also go alright for the Canadian Milos Raonic, seeded No. 3, who defeated Tommy Robredo, 6/4, 6/3.
