Ghana defender John Boye played full throttle for Rennes who came from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over Angers to make the final of the Coupe de France for the sixth time in their history.

Mohamed Yattara put the Ligue 2 side ahead after just three minutes before Ola Toivonen equalised for their top-tier opponents and Kamil Grosicki handed them a 2-1 lead at the break.

Jean Makoun netted Rennes’ third just minutes into the second half before Yattara struck a penalty after 89 minutes, but it was too little too late for Angers.

Rennes, who are looking to win their third Coupe de France after last winning the trophy in 1971, will take on the winners of Wednesday night’s second semi-final between Guingamp and Monaco in the final.
