Accra, April 15, GNA – The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Asante Kotoko for misconduct by their supporters during a Premier League match against Heart of Lions in Kumasi last month.

According to the GFA, two counts of misconduct have been preferred against Kotoko, set to appear before the Disciplinary Committee panel on Wednesday, April 23, to respond to the charges.

Supporters of Kotoko are said to have pelted match officials with sachet and bottled water after proceedings was brought to a close at the match played at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The supporters subsequently also physically assaulted the match officials after the game.

Meanwhile, Kotokos team manager, Godwin Ablordey has also been charged for two counts of misconduct after physically assaulting assistant referee Ashitey Armah in the same game.

The former Kotoko captain allegedly also insulted the match officials during recess.
