Afoko denies doing Alan’s bidding

National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko maintains that he would not be used as conduit to promote, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng’s Presidential bidding.

He was very instrumental in Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng’s 2007 Presidential contest.

His victory in Tamale was interpreted to mean a victory for Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng who has declared his intention to contest the NPP’s flag bearer ship race.

Nevertheless, Mr. Paul Afoko in an interview with Citi News reassured NPP supporters that he will stay neutral in the NPP’s flag bearer ship race.

“I have said this several times and I even said it on the platform when I was delivering the acceptance speech on behalf of the newly elected executives.”

I said, “On the point of unity, the owners of the party, the delegates spoke clearly; they told us all that we have to unite and I went round telling everybody that I am a unifier and that I have no camp.”

Mr. Afoko thus dispelled rumours that he will secretly promote Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng’s Presidential bid and therefore called for party unity for the purpose of winning the 2016 general elections.

Paul Afoko was overwhelmingly elected as national Chairman of the NPP in Tamale.

He campaigned on party unity and rekindling the spirit of the NPP as then Northern Peoples Party to make it attractive to electorates in northern Ghana.
