Vote Buying Hits NPP Congress

There were reports of votes buying at the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s national delegates conference held in Tamale.

Some of the delegates confirmed to Citi News they received GHC 100 cedis from one of the aspiring national Chairpersons.

Others claimed two of the aspiring General Secretaries whose names were withheld gave each delegate GHC 20 cedis.

In a related development, some pick pockets were arrested by vigilante security personnel on the ground.

A former Deputy National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), Abubakari Sadique nearly fell a victim of that circumstance, but was able to outsmart the pick pocket and drew the attention of the police around.

Several people complained of their missing mobile phones, wallets and other valuables.
