Asante Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson is expecting a tough game in their FA Cup clash against rivals AshantiGold on Sunday.

The Premier League champions will be making the trip to Accra for the quarter final clash against their rivals following the indefinite ban on their home ground in Kumasi.

Kotoko have already played AshGold twice this season but in the Ghanaian top flight with both sides winning their respective home games.

Sunday’s clash at the Accra Sports Stadium will therefore be the third meeting between the two Ashanti clubs.

And despite a resounding 4-1 win over the Miners in the last clash, Kotoko defender Ainooson expects a much tougher challenge from AshGold this Sunday.

“We expect a very tough match against AshantiGold,” he told Metro FM.

“We have played ourselves twice already in the league. They have won one and we have also won one.

“And therefore this encounter in the FA Cup promises to be another tough game but we look to carry the game with the good form we are in.”

Kotoko must beat AshGold on Sunday to remain on track to winning a historic league and FA Cup double this season.
