The supporter wing of Hearts of Oak in the Brong Ahafo Region have rescinded their threat to assault club officials and coach Mohammed Polo once they step foot in the area.

The supporters had issued the threat months back to principally have Managing Director Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, members of the board and coach Mohammed Polo beaten for disgracing their club with their below-par performances in the Ghanaian top flight.

The supporters had planned to carry out their threat once their target travelled to the Brong Ahafo Region to play a match.

But the group have reneged on their threats – pledging their full support to the team ahead of their trip to the region to face Berekum Chelsea in the First Capital Plus Premier League.

“We have decided to rescind our decision to beat officials and the coach when they come to this region,” the deputy public relations officer of the Chapters in B/A George Sambo, popularly known as Abanga Phobia told Metro FM.

“We have spoken to officials and the coach to assure them of our support and that we have already started taking steps to receive the team when they arrive in Berekum.

“At this point in time, our focus is to help the side regain its form in the league.

“No one took the initial decision for us but we have reconsidered and decided it won’t help the team.”

Hearts are desperately in need of points as they travel to face relegation-threatened Berekum Chelsea next Wednesday.

The Phobians have dropped to third – 12 points behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
