NDC Wishes NPP Well


The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its felicitation to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the occasion of their National Delegates’ Congress which will culminate in the   election of the party’s national officers at Tamale on Saturday.

‘We congratulate aspirants for the various positions and the entire party so far, especially managers of the Conference, for their conduct preceding the contest which is expected to attract a large number of their followers and other stakeholders both local and international, in the country’s democratic process.

‘It is the expectation of the NDC that the NPP will conduct the contest in an atmosphere devoid of antagonism, violence and rancor, to ensure a very peaceful and successful congress.

‘We wish to indicate that a successful Conference will undoubtedly enhance the country’s democratic credentials and further place Ghana’s multi party journey on a higher pedestal among the comity of multi-party states across the globe,’ according to a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

The NDC also encouraged its supporters in the Northern Region, especially those in Tamale and its environs, to co-operate with the NPP, stressing that the party would not stand by any fanatic who would act in breach of the peace prevailing in the region.

In another development, the NDC said it received the news of the accident involving Kwabena Agyepong, one of the NPP general secretary aspirants, with shock. ‘We wish him and his campaign team the best of health and hope they recover speedily to participate in the contest,’ the statement indicated.
