I will not lead NPP into a ditch – Effah-Dartey

With barely twenty-four hours to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) national delegates conference in the Nothern regional capital, Tamale, a General Secretary aspirant has reiterated his commitment to lead the party to victory in the 2016 general elections.

According to Captain Nkrabea Effah Dartey (Rtd), he has the antidote to wrestle power from the “incompetent” National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2016 general elections.

Captain Effah-Dartey is challenging incumbent General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John, former presidential spokesperson, Kwabena Agyepong and a member of the party’s 2012 legal team, Yaw Boabeng Asamoah.

Sir John and Kwabena Agyepong are seen as the front runners in the race, while Boabeng Asamoah and Effah-Dartey are seen as underdogs.

But on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen programme Friday, a confident Effah-Dartey stated emphatically that he remains the man to look out for at the party delegates’ conference, which starts April 12, 2014.

He said he brings a new air of freshness and dynamism to the office of General Secretary of the party.

Touting himself as the true unifier, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum said “I don’t belong to any faction, so I’m the true unifier with experience to bring everyone on board in 2016.

Chanting his campaign slogan “Alert and Win”, Effah-Dartey said the NPP will not suffer electoral defeat under his stewardship as General Secretary.

“I will not lead NPP in to a ditch; I will make sure the NPP become the government after the 2016 elections”, he asserted.

Captain Effah-Dartey (rtd) advised party delegates to put the future of the party first and vote for a result-oriented and competent General Secretary to steer affairs of the NPP for the next four years.

“We are not in Tamale to experiment or to choose a thick and tall person but to select someone, who will bring NPP back to power. Story by Ghana/Adomonline.com/Adwoa Gyasiwaa
