Accra, Mar 20, GNA-Captain Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey, Aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has hinted that the position of the chief scribe is not for cowards and the talkative.
He said the 2016 general elections would need a show of brevity and strategies from the NPP to recapture power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“The 2016 elections does not need the exhibition of cowardice and mere volubility; it needs the show of bravery and strategy which by experience I Effah-Dartey can bring on board,” he said.
Captain Effah-Dartey spoke to the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua on Thursday.
The General Secretary aspirant urged delegates of the party to vote him on April 12 to become the next General Secretary to put in place schemes that would bring victory to the NPP.
He also urged them to shun factionalism at this crucial time and rather vote for competent candidates who would have the sole aim of winning power for the party “but not for ceremonial purposes.”
Captain Effah-Dartey stressed that he is the only candidate who can deliver Brong Ahafo region to the NPP since “the party, as it stands now, needs my region to add up to the Ashanti and Eastern regions to win power.”
“I can win Brong Ahafo for NPP and I know how I will do that; delegates should only vote for me to be General Secretary and I will do it,” he added.
Captain Effah-Dartey was however very confident that on April 12, he would be declared the next General Secretary of NPP, saying his message of “experience, unity and militancy” had widely been accepted by the party’s delegates.
