Ayittey Powers Requests For GHC50,000 To Fight Bukom Banku

The Chief Executive of Ambition Boxing Promotions, Alhaji Tawfik has revealed that Ayittey Powers refused to sign the supplementary contract to accept the new May 16th fight date with Brimah Kamoko alias Bukom Banku because he wanted an increment in the financial package.

The Promoter, Alex Ntiamoah, the CEO of Box Office Sports Promotions, offered to give Ayittey Powers GHC30,000 to accept the new date but the fighter has turned down the amount and is rather demanding for GHC50,000.

“I went to Ayittey and I asked him, what is wrong. Why don’t you want to sign? He told me, it’s the purse. He wants 50,000 cedis and so I advised him to go and see the promoter (Alex Ntiamoah) so they can do something about the money,” Alhaji Tawfik said.

On Tuesday, Ayittey Powers, who had called for the change of date from the originally scheduled April 18th fight, told reporters he did not want to accept the new date because he was waiting for an approval from his spiritual father Prophet TB Joshua before he goes into the ring against Bukom Banku.

The latest report has become frustrating as over 30,000 tickets have been sold for the non-title fight, which is expected to be broadcasted by media partners Supersport and TV3.
