Accra, 7th April, 2014 – Royal African Holdings, an African focus investment firm announced the appointment of Farouk Khailann as Chief Operating Officer for its Ghana operations.

Mr. Khailann brings rich experience in management to his new role where he will oversee Royal Africa Holding’s real estate, financial services, travel, farming, logistics, commodities, entertainment, sports, media and energy functions.

“Farouk is a good pick and has proven his worth through various pre appointment assignments andearned a solid reputation for himself. The board has confidence in him due to his varied experience, hewill be a driving force behind our efforts to build a strong brand in Ghana,” said the Chairman of Royal African Holdings, H.R.H Prince Ebrahim.

“Our flagship project at prampram is a UDS$ 1.7 billion investment Palm Grove City — a 3,000 Acres development, 30 minutes drive from Accra and 5 minutes drive from Ghana’s new airport site.

“It is poised to be Ghana’s most prestigious and sustainable metropolis development, reflecting a contemporary and vibrant African City that never sleeps and a large percent of the team will be drawn from Ghana,” he added.

Mr. Khailann holds Bachelor of education in social science from the University of Cape Coast and Certificates from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

As an ardent crusader of domestic capital mobilization, he established the Institute of Finance Literacy (IFL) to give Ghanaians the opportunity to increase their financial market knowledge for business and personal development.

He was the marketing manager at Finlite Group, where he led the marketing team to successfully launch FinMock, the first online examination technology to hit Ghana’s IT landscape.

Farouk’s career endeavors took him to the energy sector where he worked with Ghana Gas Company as a document control officer, he was part of the team that designed the IT infrastructure of the company and also developed a social media strategy for its operations.

He also partnered Nathanial Kwabena Adisi, one of Ghana’s revered entertainment entrepreneurs to establishStockrush Ghana limited, a company that offers market research, marketing and project management services to other organizations.

He also served at Skills for Youth Empowerment (NGO) as Assistant Director of operations where he led a team to research and draft a report on youth entrepreneurship in Africa for the United Nations Economic Commission on Africa (UNECA).
