Hearts Fans Threaten Polo And Neil Armstrong

As the Accra-giants prepare to face Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League, the supporter base in Berekum are up in arms against management calling for Polo’s head.

The supporters wing of Accra Hearts of Oak in the Brong Ahafo region has issued a strong warning to the Board of Directors of the club to immediately terminate the appointment of head coach Mohammed Polo and managing director Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe before the team head to Berekum to face Chelsea.

The deputy public relations officer of the Chapters in B/A George Sambo, popularly known as Abanga Phobia, told Goaso-based Success FM it will be suicidal for the two targeted personalities to be at post and make the trip to Berekum, adding that their safety cannot be guaranteed.

“The top hierarchy of Phobia supporters in Brong Ahafo region are sending a strong warning to the Board of Directors of our dear club, especially Togbe Afede and his advisers to sack Polo and Neil Armstrong immediately. These two men should not be at post before the team arrives in Berekum,” he charged.

He added: “They shouldn’t dare us by making the trip because the supporters here have vowed to sack them with their own methods if they prove adamant. We will teach them a lesson they will not forget in their entire life. Their families will not like the news so it’s better for them to advise these two gentlemen to quit peacefully.”

Abanga Phobia insisted that Armstrong-Mortagbe is a complete failure, noting that the appointment of Polo as the successor for David Duncan was a big mistake.

“Mortagbe is a complete failure, how can someone who has moved through the ranks from a supporter to Managing Director, appoint Polo as the successor to Duncan. It wasn’t the best option for the club after sacking Duncan because we were chasing Kotoko for the league trophy. The team have been to Brong Ahafo twice this season against Bechem United and Aduana Stars, we won the two matches because of what the supporters did openly and secretly but we are fed up.

“We will not do anything to help the club if the coach and MD come to Berekum but only misbehave,” he stated.

“Neil is using our team for laboratory test. Why must Mohammed Polo be hired to collapse everything we have toiled for recently? Some of our supporters can’t even come out of their hideouts whiles others are dying. We buried one supporter called Opoku Afriyie last weekend because of the poor performance by the club. We were told at the funeral he died as a result of heart attack. He was always laughed at by his colleagues. If we don’t take care we will all die, I don’t know what’s happening in other regions probably they’ve recorded more deaths,” Sambo alleged.

The Phobians are 12 points adrift of leaders Kotoko having lost two consecutive matches and travel to Berekum next week to battle relegation-haunted Chelsea.
