Come What May, NDC Will Garner 30% Of Votes In Ashanti Region – Yamoah Ponko

During the last general elections, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) put up a sterling performance in the Ashanti Region compared to that of 2008.

Prior to the 2012 elections, the ruling party, by its own calculation, had targeted about 500,000 votes in order to secure a win in the presidential elections, but polled more than 600,000.

In the 2008 elections, the NDC obtained 479,633 votes, representing 25.61% of total votes cast in the Ashanti region, but this increased to 28.67% after the 2012 elections had come to an end.

Based on the above record, Mr. Yamoah Ponko envisages that come what may, the NDC is likely to scoop 30% of votes from the Ashanti Region in 2016.

Speaking to Okay FM, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu Juaben stated that with the kind of works the NDC has done in Ashanti Region, it would even be a crime for them to get 22% of the total votes cast.

“Some people have become liars because of partisan politics but if anyone should come to Ashanti Region and see the number of schools and infrastructure we have put in place, that fellow would appreciate it and see we deserve our 30% target”, he said.
