Fabulous Crushed As Prisons End Their Perfect Run

Fabulous Ladies face a decisive final weekend in the National Women’s League after they were dethroned as leaders in the Northern Division.

Prisons moved to the summit of their zone after thumping the former leaders 3-0 in Sunyani on Saturday.

Having gone unbeaten in eight games and keeping eight clean sheets before the penultimate fixtures over the weekend, Fabulous saw their perfect run brought to an end by Prisons in the top-of-the-table clash.

Goals by Grace Asare, Rebecca Asante and Kasira Malik ensured that Prisons took all the spoils in their lively contest.

The defeat could deny Fabulous another chance at the Championship if they fail to return to the top of the log after the final day matches. Fabulous, lost last season’s finals to Hasaacas Ladies.

Prisons are now two points clear at the top ahead of the last-day matches as the winner of the two zone will meet the leader from the other division in the one-off Championship for the title.

In the Southern sector, a double by Faiza Ibrahim ensured that Police Ladies defeated Lady Strikers 2-0 to keep the pressure on the top.

Police are now two points behind leaders, Hasaacas Ladies who claimed a 1-0 away victory over Immigration Ladies.
