The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has set December 2014 for its national delegates’ congress to elect national executives.
The party has also announced a timeline for constituency and regional elections.
These decisions formed part of resolutions adopted at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Tamale over the weekend.
The CPP’s General Secretary, Ivor Greenstreet in an interview with Citi News stated that the NEC will also pilot a biometric registration system for party members across the country from April till June, 2014.
The biometric cards will be used to deduct dues of party members nationwide and also to facilitate their continuous membership.
Mr. Greenstreet added that constituency and regional elections will be held “between July and September 30th of this year.”
The NEC is also said to have discussed other constitutional issues in relation to party matters.
