Seven out of the 14 persons arrested in connection with the clashes in Bongini and surrounding towns in the Northern Region will be arraigned before court on Monday.
Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told Citi News, the seven will be charged for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession firearms without lawful authority and causing damage.
‘’The other seven will also be subsequently arraigned before court, meanwhile five others have also been arrested; we’ve also retrieved some weapons and ammunitions, ’he said.
ASP Tetteh gave the assurance to the general public that the police are heavily on the ground now and are ensuring law and order.
Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for East Mamprusi Adam Imoro who is with the Police on the ground said they have picked up enough signals connected to the disturbances and will come up with measures to arrest the protracted disturbances soon.
Four people died in the clashes that erupted Saturday morning, forcing hundreds of indigenes to flee to surrounding bushes.
