About Oyo State Govt. Monthly Online Chat With Citizenry


The Executive Governor of Oyo state, Senator Ajibola Ajimobi will on Wednesday, 30th of April 2014 interact with his people through the ‘Platform’, an online monthly chat with the citizenry of the state to discuss topical issues affecting them as a people, and join ideas on future development.

The unexpected popularity of the internet and online communication in Nigeria and the world at large has grown exponentially, researchers say it was one of the key strategies that helped American President Barrack Obama to earn the admiration of many and win his first election into office.

The government and people of Oyo state have identified social media as a tool to rub minds and exchange views on how to move the state forward, following the popularity of social networking websites such as facebook, my space, twitter, google plus etc, with millions of users accessing these websites rising daily.

Coming from the stables of the current Commissioner of the state’s Ministry of Applied & Industrial Science & Technology, on resumption as the Commissioner, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina a man who believes in the enthronement of an Egalitarian society in Nigeria, appreciating the need to communicate with the people and the need to utilize the value of the opportunities the internet offers.

Having served as the immediate past Commissioner of Youth & Sport, Adedapo Lam-Adesina had from his early days in life proved himself as a voice for his people. He started his journey in life in the city of Ibadan where he was born. He attended the prestigious Government College Ibadan (GCI), briefly studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Eruwa campus and later forwarded his education at the University of Ibadan where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.
