A former chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Peter Mac Manu has called for a cease fire within the party ahead of their Congress next week.
He told Hello FM’s King Edward this morning in an interview that if things should continue the way it is going now, then there is danger ahead for the party.
Comparing what happened in other political parties in countries like Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Kenya etc, he warned that the NPP should be careful to avert any unforeseen danger or anything that will mar the beauty of the congress.
These political parties in their respective countries have had their congress end up in supreme courts but we are noted for clean campaigns and congress so we should live up to it. Moreover we have invested so much and should not let it go waste, Mac Manu said.
All the internal wranglings and accusations must stop. What we have to fight for now is to come back to power in 2016, he added.
