Political elections usually end with slanderous and unfounded comments. So often we hear and witness supporters of candidates fabricate stories with the intention to kill the political dream of an opponent they consider formidable.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) would soon commence a project to elect their national executives and this has ignited heat to get Nana Akufo Addo out from office. Following a recent allegation by Nana Ohene Ntow that Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie’s ‘uncouth’ style of communicating played a vital role in getting nominated as General Secretary, an aide to the latter has come out to state that Mr. Ntow’s allegations forms part of an indirect grand scheme to oust Nana Akufo Addo.
Mr. David Osei told OKAY FM that Mr. Ntow forms part of a clique within the NPP that are bent on doing everything possible to oust and shatter Nana Akufo Addo’s presidential ambition by picking on executives they believe supports Akufo Addo and act as his shield.
“They have an agenda for 2021. They know very well that Nana Addo is going to win the presidential elections so what they intend doing is to support people they believe are on their sides to get executive positions.
After they have achieved this, they would make things difficult for Nana Addo and ensure that he does not become president. Then in 2016, they would end up presenting a presidential candidate they have natured and impose him on the NPP”, he posited.
“We have picked up intelligence that certain elders of the party met at Kumasi and vowed to sell some of their houses and use the earned cash to end Sir John’s political future as General Secretary”.
According to Mr. Osei, ever since Mr. Owusu Afriyie openly declared his support for Nana Akufo Addo, and decided to contest the upcoming election to retain his post as General Secretary, he has been hung out to dry by Nana Ohene Ntow and others.
Mr. David Osei further revealed that ahead of the NPP’s congress, some senior party members have met at Kumasi and vowed to sell their properties in order to invest it into a campaign to vilify Sir John.
“Sir John has always served as protective cover for Nana Addo and the only way this people can disturb Nana Addo is to get rid of Sir John.
He ended by asserting that the party was doing itself a great disservice if such acts are allowed to continue.
