Nigeria U-17 To Undergo MRI Scan

As part of curbing age cheats, the Nigeria football governing body has insisted that Emmanuel Amuneke’s lads must go through the MRI test
The Nigeria Football Federation has said that selected players in the national U17 team will be subjected to the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test before they can be eligible to represent the country.

According to the NFF, the test in addition to players’ birth certificates will be used as criteria to determine their exact age while also disclosing that the national U17 camp will be thrown open.

The screening exercise which begins on Thursday is expected to hold at the practice pitch of the Fifa Goal Project site will see the coaching crew hope to produce another set of players that will defend the world title won last year in the United Arab Emirates.

Nigeria will face either Burundi or Congo DR in August for the Niger 2015 African U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Fifa U17 World Cup that will take place in Chile.
