The Rector of the Ho Polytechnic, Dr Jakpasu Victor Afun has appealed to government and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to expedite action on the categories 2 and 3 allowances of Polytechnic staff across the country.

The appeal was contained in the Rector’s report at 14th Congregation of the Ho Polytechnic in Ho on Saturday.

Dr Afun expressed gratitude to government for “fulfilling her promise of improving the salaries for staff of Polytechnics. However, “one crucial issue that has been left hanging for a very long time now is the negotiations on the Categories 2 and 3 allowances.”

A total of 1,120 students were awarded certificates, 30 got Bachelor of Technology Degrees in Agricultural Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Hospitality and Tourism Management and rest Higher National Diplomas.

A special group grandaunts, trained under the Competency-Based programme in Agricultural Engineering, were also awarded.
