A member of the Communications Team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Anim Piesie, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should not expect anything spectacular or positive from Nana Akufo-Addo, if he is elected as the party’s flagbearer to contest the 2016 Presidential elections.
He was commenting on Nana Akufo Addo’s decision to contest again for the flagbearership position of the NPP, after losing twice consecutively. He stressed that there is the need for the party to pick a fresh candidate, adding that you cannot be planting the same plant at the same place every time.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show, ‘Kokrokoo’, Piesie said: “During the 2012 elections we heard from the NPP that when Nana loses the election in 2012, he will not contest again. As to whether he is a winnable candidate or not is up to the NPP. But the question is, why is the NPP still maintaining Akufo Addo after losing twice; because you cannot continue to do the same thing and expect different results”.
