An unknown assailant on Tuesday night allegedly shot and killed one Zakaria Adams, 20, in Savelugu in the Savelugu/Nanton Municipality.
Mr Ebenezer Tetteh, Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, told the GNA in an interview in Tamale on Wednesday that Adam was sitting with colleagues when he was shot.
He said the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Tamale West Hospital morgue pending autopsy while police patrol in the Savelugu/Nanton Municipality has been intensified.
Mr Tetteh said investigations were currently ongoing and appealed to the public to volunteer any information about the shooting so that the perpetrator (s) could be brought to book.
