I Can Work With All – Kwabena Adjepong Declares

A frontline aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Adjei Agyapong yesterday presented himself as a living testimony of a party man who can work without allowing the so-called factionalism within the party to hinder his efficiency.

He said his ability to work with those he did not support in internal party contests was evident in his relationship with former President Kufuor.

Although he did not support the former President when he vied for the leadership of the party, he (Kwabena Agyepong) worked with him.

The former President eventually chose him to be his representative in the EC strong room.

He was speaking during a press conference yesterday in Accra to, as he put it, announce the completion of a novelty campaign programme of door-to-door across the country.

According to him, the reception which he and his campaign team dubbed, “Kwabena For GS” received during the countrywide tour showed that the “NPP is the most attractive political party in Ghana.”

Ghanaians, he said, are yearning for the return of the NPP to fix the shattered economy, adding that the NDC has shown that they are unfocused, incompetent and lack a proper framework to deliver an effective and resilient economy.

The NPP, he went on, have a responsibility as a party to recapture power and redeem the Ghanaian people by doing things differently “thus the need to select competent, courageous, hardworking and dedicated loyalists to steer the affairs of the party in order to guarantee a comprehensive victory in 2016.”

The aspirant bemoaned the absence of adequate logistics in many constituencies across the country and asked that this be fixed to move the party forward.

“Some constituencies lack party offices and even in areas where they do, they are crammed and unsuitable for office and operational work,” he said.

In places where there was clear despondency, the message of redemption which they bore rekindled their spirits towards victory in 2016, he said.

His outstanding memory of the party’s history was displayed when he told his audience that the NPP was the first political grouping to acquire national headquarters offices in the country.

The knowledge of the party, among others, stand him in a good stead to serve as General Secretary of the party.

“In spite of vile propaganda within and without against us, we have remained focused and prosecuted a very decent campaign. This is because we believe that we should let the delegates know about my capabilities and my good intentions of raising the image of our great party as our founding fathers did in their time. That is the difference. We shall not degenerate into that kind of decency.”
