What Was The Essence Of Gen Mosquito’s Press Confab?…Panic Reaction!!!

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been advised to select a strong leadership as they go to congress next month.

“They need a stronger leadership than what they have now…” said a former National Youth Organiser of the Convention People’s Party (NPP).

James Kwabena Bomfeh, also known as ‘Kabila, said on ‘Kokrokoo’ that the debate as to whether Akufo-Addo is capable of leading the NPP because of his age, is neither here nor there because the 1992 Constitution of Ghana allows anybody above the age of 40; even up to a 1000 years to contest for the Presidency.

“I don’t believe Nana Addo imposed himself on the party because there are others who have also stated their intention to contest for the same position; Those in the NPP saying he is too old should rather stop talking and mobilise those they think are youthful candidates for the position; campaign for them so that the delegates will choose for themselves…that is my advice,” he added.

Kabila also described as needless the Press Conference organized by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in reaction to the declaration by Nana Akufo-Addo.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, at a press conference organised by the NDC stated that if he were to advise the NPP, he would have told them to choose a younger candidate.

He described the two-time flagbearer of the NPP as a “sunset candidate,” adding that he will easily be beaten again at the polls in 2016.

But Kabila said whether or not Nana Addo contest as the flagbearer of the NPP does not concern the NDC.

“What was the essence of General Mosquitoes’ press conference? Somebody has declared his intention to contest for a position in his party; an issue which does not concern you, then you organize a press conference and respond to it? It is a panic reaction…” he pointed out.
