Director Appeals To Government For Vehicle

The Nzema-East Municipal Director of Education, Mr John K Yankey has reiterated the need for government to resource the directorate with a vehicle to facilitate movements in their line of duty.

According to him, “since the only vehicle went on a sick leave for some months now,” it had hampered effective monitoring of teaching and learning in the area.

Mr Yankey expressed these sentiments to the Ghana News Agency at Axim. He said regular visits to schools were necessary to ensure effective work of teachers and improved academic performance of students.

Mr Yankey bemoaned the fact that all officers in the directorate did not not cars, a situation which made effective monitoring and supervision difficult.

The Director also asked teachers in the municipality to eschew negative practices such as absenteeism, lateness to work, drunkenness and be mindful of the way they dress.
