AdMa Reviews 2013 Events

Joseph Obodai, Assembly Member
The Adentan Municipal Assembly (AdMa) in the Greater Accra Region is meeting to discuss the performance of the Assembly in the past years and to set out an action plan for the year 2014.

The review meeting brought together assembly members, heads of department/units, traditional authorities and stakeholders in the Municipal Directorate.

A deliberation over the period is expected to centre on discussions of various meetings of the Assembly (emergency, ordinary and special).

The Assembly member of the New Legon Electoral area, Eric Tony Blair, who spoke to the DAILY GUIDE said though AdMA went through turbulent moments with regards to the nomination of a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), ‘I am happy that members and staff of the Assembly have gone about their duties with ease.’

He added that three persons (Ben Anyenu, Amaglo Wisdom, Madam Emefa Sika Nartey or Alhaji Baba) have also been shortlisted for nomination by AdMA after having gone through the necessary procedures.

Members of the Assembly however declined to comment on the impasse of the Aviation lands, as they argued that the case was in court and feared any contempt charges.

A worrying development that the Assembly also discussed was a 21-acre of land owned by the Sowah Din Basic School at Adjiriganor which was being taken over by encroachers.

The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Gabriel G.H. Dari, highlighted that ‘the Assembly is resolved to work to restore its image.’
