Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo’s Declaration Will Further Deepen Cracks In NPP

A family with a common interest of achieving a targeted objective must cohesively and mutually put their chairs together in taking critical decisions.

Indeed, a vehicle cannot be put in acceleration state without getting the engine and other related parts ignited.

United Youth for 2016 want to add their voice in welcoming Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo back home and also wish him well as he celebrates his 70th birthday this month.

He is undoubtedly an asset to the party and must be celebrated accordingly.

As we warm up for Tamale, come 12th April, United Youth for 2016 want to cease this opportunity to appeal to Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo to rescind his decision of declaring his third term flagbearership bid publicly before National Conference since we believe such a move will would rather tend to deepen the factions within the rank and file of our party.

Any negative perception of imposition and self-glorification will further jeopardize the fortunes of the party in the long run.

United Youth for 2016, is battle ready to support whoever emerges as the flag bearer of the party but will but will hasten to add that the process must be democratically exercised to foster unity.

Our economy is down to the bone and will need swift and pragmatic measures to bring it to the path of recovery. NPP is the only proven and tested party that can bring back hope to Ghanaians. Internal party rivalry should not be allowed to get out of hand. Unity of purpose is what is needed now.

As a party, our main intent and focus must be on power and not a presidential candidate. Nana, if your aim is to win power for NPP then you have to focus on bringing about unity and not make any move that will have an opposite effect.

Interestingly, the timing is not in tandem with our principles and tenets and will therefore go a long way to open ‘declaration flood gate’ where other leading and equally deserving members of the party will also have the tendency to declare. This will unfortunately shift focus from the congress.

United Youth for 2016 once again appeal to our Nana to have a second look and still give the battle to the Lord.
Thank you.
