West Africa Nobles forum organises symposium on integrity


The West Africa Nobles Forum will organise a symposium on the topic “Integrity: The hallmark of successful leaders,” in Accra on April 10, 2014.

The symposium is being organised in collaboration with the Wisconsin International University College, Ghana and will be addressed by  the Lagos State Governor in Nigeria, Babatunde Raji Fashola.

Believed to be the most celebrated politician in Nigeria’s history in terms of honesty and accountability, Mr Fashola is rated as the best Governor that Nigeria has ever had, due to his landmark achievements in the area of sanitation, discipline, transportation and integrity in public office, earning for himself the acronym, “Mr Integrity”.

The Governor will address participants, comprising politicians, top government functionaries, captains of industry, university students, the diplomatic corps and the local and international media, on his two-term tenure as Governor of Lagos State and the secret of his success.

A statement issued by the forum said the symposium would be under the distinguished chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College, Professor Kofi Oduro-Afriyie, while a Ghanaian lawyer and lawmaker of international repute, the Majority Leader of Parliament, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor, is expected to be the guest of honour.

The West Africa Nobles Forum is a non-governmental, non-religious and non-profit-making organisation with its headquarters in Accra, Ghana. It was established in October 2003, and has a membership of over 1,000.

The sub-regional think tank, fashioned after the philosophical society of America, is made up of statesmen, legal luminaries, politicians, research fellows, technocrats, medical giants, other professionals and captains of industry.

The patron of the forum is Dr Joyce Aryee, while the current President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees is the Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Rev. (Dr) Kofi Paul Fynn.

Some members of the forum are: Princess Sara Sosam, Senator Mamora, Noble Anthony Thomas Udu, Chief Executive Officer, Progemics; Noble Sonnie Ayere, Chief Executive Officer of UBA Global Markets; and Noble Abayomi Ajayi of Nordica Fertility Centre, all from Nigeria.

Others include: Noble William Adjovu, CEO of Liberty Group of Companies; Dr Theresa Oppong-Beeko, CEO of Manet Group; Chief P.A. Crystal Djirackor, CEO of Crystal TV; Noble Dr Beatrice Wiafe Addai, of Breast Care International and Noble Isaac Owusu-Hemeng, the immediate past CEO of The Trust Bank, among others.

The event will be rounded up with the presentation of the Nobles International Award to a few deserving West Africans.
