Awuku Consoles Murdered Man’s Family

He urged the youth to allow the police to thoroughly investigate the matter professionally.

It is disheartening that the region is experiencing such turbulent times, according to him.

He called on the police to apprehend the culprits in order to restore peace in the Tamale Metropolis.

Mr. Awuku suspended his campaign in the Central Region to travel to Tamale to console the family of the late Alhassan Naziru, who was shot by unidentified gunmen at Sagnarigu.

He indicated that the NPP was also mourning the death of Alhassan Naziru.

The aspirant presented an undisclosed amount to the family towards the performance of the Seventh day prayers (Adoa) of the deceased and appealed to all to join hands and pray for the soul of the departed.

Alhaji Mohammed Gazale, elder brother to the deceased, thanked Mr. Awuku for his concern and show of love to the family and prayed to Allah to grant him all his wishes, including his desire to lead the party’s youth in the country.

Addressing a section of the youth later, Mr. Awuku made a passionate appeal to the youth within Tamale not do anything untoward to escalate tension, observing that peace building is a process and not an event.

He disclosed that the upcoming national delegates’ congress would be held in honour of the late Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama and Northerners, who made sacrifices for the NPP.

He urged them to ensure the success of the event, which would also inure to the benefit of all residents.

Later at the Northern Regional Police Headquarters, he assured the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, that the NPP would back the police to properly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.

The Northern Regional Police Commander assured the public that his outfit was working hard for the interest of all residents in region.

He, however, appealed to Mr. Awuku to encourage his supporters to be circumspect in their comments on radio, as their campaign intensifies.
