Members of a women wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North, ‘Yaayi’ which literally means ‘Has happened,’ have declared their support for Otiko Afisah Djaba, who is vying for the position of national Women’s Organizer of the party.
Speaking at a press conference, the Secretary of the movement, Hajia Bintu Munkaila described Ms Otiko as a mother and eloquent politician, who has championed the cause of Northerners in the country.
Hajia Bintu called on all to rally behind Ms Otiko, who can speak several languages such as Hausa, Gonja, Dagomba, Mamprusi.
She debunked claims that NPP are anti-northerners and Muslims, adding that “if not for the NPP, the Ghanaian Presidency wouldn’t have seen the Quran.”
Hajia called on all to analyze their situation and vote massively for NPP in the 2016 general elections.
