Silverbird Cinemas, Ghana’s number one entertainment hub, has partnered Vodafone Ghana to premiere ‘300: Rise of an Empire’, a 2014 American fantasy action film on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra Mall and Weija respectively.
‘300: Rise of an Empire’, is a sequel to the 2006 film ‘300’ based on Frank Miller’s unpublished Graphic Novel, ‘Xerxes’. The movie stars Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro, David Wenham and Andrew Tiernan, reprising their roles from the first film.
Mr Albert Adomako Mensah, Director in-charge of Special Projects at Global Media Alliance shares that ‘this is the very first 3D movie we are premiering after the launch of our branch in Weija and we are happy to be partnering Vodafone. ‘300: Rise of An Empire’ happens to be one of the most anticipated sequels in 2014. We are very excited to bring the new chapter of the epic saga to our customers in Ghana.’
In ‘300: Rise of an Empire’, Themistokles, the Greek General is planted against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god, Xerxes and Artemesia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, Oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. Meanwhile, Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land.
‘300: Rise of an Empire’ would premiere at Silverbird, Accra Mall on Friday, March 14 at 6:30 pm and at Weija on Saturday, March 15 at 3:00 pm.
