Dead Referee’s Funeral: GFA To Pay Part Of Bills, Western RFA To Buy Casket

The Ghana Football Association this morning held an emergency meeting to impose an indefinite ban on the Dompem park, the venue where the late referee Kyei Andoh was severlely beaten, Ghanasportsonline.com can confirm.

The GFA and its regional body in the Western Region have both resolved to help the family of the late referee Kyei Andoh during the funeral.

The GFA Emergency committee have resolved to close the said venue which hosts Dompem Golden Stars FC until findings of the Police and other investigation are concluded for the necessary actions to be taken.

GFA Communications Director Ibrahim Saani Daara told reporters at the press briefing “Once again we would like to send our condolences with the families of referee Kyei, they’ve been there to visit the family in Prestea”.

“Following their meeting two days ago, we have decided to ban Dompem Gold Stars at that stadium, that stadium has been banned indefinitely until a decision will be taken.

“The police has waded into the matter, the report from the disciplinary committee has been received and further action will be taken”.

“Whiles still waiting for the autopsy, the Western Region FA has decided to take up the cost of the casket and the Ghana FA will also take up some part of the bills towards the funeral”.
