Zain Verjee To Visit Ghana For Advanced Leadership Program In Media And Entertainment

Zain Verjee, Kenyan Canadian journalist and co-anchor of CNN International’s European Daytime program, “World One” WILL BE PART OF THE RESOURCE TEAM FOR the upcoming Advanced Leadership Program in Media and Entertainment, an initiative born out of a partnership between Global Media Alliance (GMA) and The China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).

The “Advanced Leadership Program in Media and Entertainment Management”- the first of its kind in Africa- will equip professionals working in all areas of the media and entertainment industries with practical skills to match new trends emerging in both industries.

The program aims at grooming these practitioners and equipping them with strong management, leadership, and relevant business tools and skills to attain excellence in their various fields of endeavors in the ever-changing world of media and business.

Mr. Edward Boateng, Executive Chairman of GMA speaking on the appointment of Zain Verjee as a Resource person for the program said “The appointment of resource persons for the Advanced Leadership Program comes with intensive scrutiny. We have chosen Zain Verjee as one of our faculty members for this particular program because, she has over 10 years international experience and reputation and can also relate to the local scene very well because that is where her career in media begun. Zain Verjee comes on board with lots of experiences, insight, and knowledge to benefit our local professionals.”

Zain joined CNN in 2000, prior to which she was a news reader on Kenya Television Network, Nairobi. Mr. Boateng added that apart from CNN’s own Zain Verjee, Ghanaian Media professionals should look forward to more veteran media professionals with international reputation to join the Faculty for the Advanced Leadership Program in Media and Entertainment. He concluded by encouraging all professionals in Media to take part in this program to upgrade their knowledge and skills to remain relevant and stay ahead of the phenomenal changes we are witnessing in the media industry today”.

The Advanced Leadership Program in Media and Entertainment will begin in April. The first of the 3 module program will take place from 23rd April to 25th April. The module will focus on Media Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Service Marketing. The second module, “Leading people and Organizations” will begin from August 27 and end on August 29th while the final module, “Media Management Strategy” will span from November 26 to November 28.
