Police Arrest Akim Oda Robbery Kingpin After Killing One In Highway Robbery

The Akim Oda Divisional Police Commander, Chef Superintendent James Sarfo Peprah has confirmed that his men have arrested a notorious armed robber who gunned down one(1) and wounded 3 at flower junction near Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region late last month.

The deceased, 31- year- old Kumakple Klu, a Nissan van driver who was transporting 9 passengers to an unknown destination was shot in the head and killed instantly during the gunshot.

Three (3) of the passengers onboard according to the Police Service sustained serious injuries and been are admitted at the St. Dominic’s Hospital, Akwatia.

Briefing the media, Chef Superintendent James Sarfo Peprah said, upon a tipoff that there was a highway robbery at Flower junction, a spot between Osenanse and Asamankese, he deplored personnel to rescue the road users to avoid any further incident.

According to him the leader of the gang who has been on a police wanted list, Clement Tangey a native of Akatsi Gblamazado and a resident of Kade was arrested on a tip off on the 4th of March, 2014.

Chief Superintendent James Sarfo Peprah however disclosed that, Clement Tangey is an ex-convict who has been jailed on two occasions, a terror and has been involved in several robberies around Akim Oda.

During interrogations, Clement Tangey has admitted to the operation which led to the death of Kumakple Klu.
