The Ashanti Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has vowed to foil all illegal tactics that Deputy Sports Minister, Joseph Yammin will adopt to help the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections in the area.
The Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer of the NPP, Nana Ama Amponsah alleged that Hon. Yammin rigged the 2012 elections for the NDC.
Nana Ama said Hon. Yammin had started boasting on some networks in Kumasi that the NDC would win more than 30 percent of votes in the Ashanti region in 2016.
She alleged that Hon. Yammin’s remarks indicated that the NDC were hatching dubious plans to rig elections in the Ashanti region to help the incompetent Mahama administration to retain power.
Nana Ama sternly cautioned Hon. Yammin and the NDC to desist from such activities in the Ashanti region in 2016, stressing that the NPP would not allow the NDC to operate dubiously in the area.
The NPP Women’s Organizer was speaking during the People’s Forum programme organized by the largest opposition political party at Aboabo in Kumasi on Sunday.
Nana Ama stated that the NPP would implement strategies to neutralize the activities of Hon. Yammin and the NDC.
‘Let’s stop Yammin and the NPP will win more votes in the Ashanti region,’ the NPP Women’s Organizer noted, adding that Hon. Yammin’s skill should not be underestimated by the NPP.
If the NPP is able to neutralize Hon. Yammin, the NDC would struggle to even get 20 percent of votes in the Ashanti region in 2016.
She revealed that the NPP would campaign vigorously to woo more voters, notably floating voters to the party, adding that the NPP must win power to properly steer the affairs of the country in 2016.
Nana Ama stressed that with oneness and hard work, the NPP would easily win the next general elections.
