The peaceful demonstration by the Public Action Against Corruption and Abuse (PAACA) which was to take place in Takoradi today has been postponed.
The organizers have postponed the planned peaceful march because the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly is organizing a clean-up exercise in the metropolis today from 6:00am to 12noon.
As a result, the authorities in the metropolis have ordered that no vehicle moves during the clean-up period until 12noon.
This, according to the organizers of the demonstration, could prevent people from coming out in their numbers to participate and could also stifle their efforts to have an effective exercise.
They have therefore fixed Saturday March 8, 2014 as the new date for the peaceful march. Meanwhile, the time and the various routes remain the same.
Thousands of residents in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis who had expressed interest to participate in the intended demonstration are bracing themselves for the peaceful march.
PACCA has already been to Accra, Kumasi and Koforidua, and intends to demonstrate throughout the country.
