On one stage at the National Theatre, Ghana will experience history spiced with humour, music and dance.
The Globe Productions in partnership with National Theatre and the Nkrumah Centenary Committee presents ‘The Second Coming of Nkrumah,’ an unprecedented play by Latif Abubakar.
‘The Second Coming of Nkrumah’ is a stage play enriched with the Ghanaian history and culture; it is the story of the foundation of freedom in Africa, and the legendary character that spurred the struggle on. This is folklore of his history through his second coming. This is the story of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the great son of Africa.
The main objective of the play is to provide an electrifying and delightful platform not only for Ghanaians but for non-Ghanaians in the country to be entertained and educated about the Ghanaian history and culture. Coincidentally, the play will be staged during Independence Anniversary Celebrations on March 6, 2014, with two shows a night, 4:00pm and 8:00pm at the National Theatre in Accra.
The play also seeks to emphasize on the importance of unity towards national development and contribute to the resurgence of theatre by positioning theatre as one of the best if not the best source of entertainment in the country.
