Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Nana Perbi, aka the Soul Lifter, has launched two new singles ahead of his yet to be released album.
The singles are ‘O’ Nkosi’ which means ‘O Lord’, and ‘Hossana Priaz Medley’: the former is a prayer based on Hannah’s prayer to God for a child as well as Jacob’s encounter with the angel for a blessing, while the latter is a mixed rendition of higher praise respectively.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Nana Perbi said he felt elated and honoured to be spreading the word of God through music.
According to the Soul Lifter, the two songs carry a message that is set to help transform lives across Africa.
‘I believe these songs have what it takes to help transform lives in Africa since I wrote them with real passion,’ Nana cited.
He however lamented that it was high time Ghanaians brought the gospel industry into the crest of music genres.
‘We have so much talent in this country and gospel music has its own uniqueness that restores our industry back to its old glory. Gospel songs unite us all us as a people,’ he noted.
He pointed out that the release also has three complimentary songs, which are an introduction declaration of Psalm 23, Hallelujah and Acapella Hosanna.
According to him, the songs also feature icons such as Botswana’s queen of gospel, Thebbi Sethomo, Nigerian saxophone icon Ayo Solanke and Morris Babyface and Grace Ashly both from Ghana.
