Hearts Can No Longer Attract The Big Players – Harry Zakkour

Ex Hearts of Oak chief Harry Zakkour says the club has lost its competitive edge in attracting the best players in the transfer market.

The Phobians used to go in for all the big players in the country to enrich their squad towards sustained successes.

The club has, however, in recent times failed to land the big names around due to limited finances.

Hearts used to slug it out with arch rivals Asante Kotoko for the best local talent.

Zakkour who was chairman during arguably the most successful period of the Phobians brags about his prowess in the transfer market – something he believes has deserted the club.

“During my time, there was no way I will lose a bid for a player to Kotoko,” he said pm Metro TV’s Sports File show.

“We signed the best players, but today you see we don’t have players?”

Hearts have fallen behind in their pursuit to wrestle the Ghana Premier League from rivals Asante Kotoko this season.

The Phobians are seven points behind their rivals who have a game in hand in the Ghanaian top flight.
