A 57-Year-Old corn miller, has committed suicide because his wife denied him sex on several occasions and also disrespected him as a husband.
Kwame Amoako, was seen hanging on a guava tree on his compound on February 10, at about 5 o’clock, at Anynasin in the East Akyem District of the Eastern Region.
He was the husband of Mrs. Yaa Kuramaa and they have five children.
Speaking to The Ghanaian Times, Yaa Kuramaa said her husband woke up around 4:30 dawn and told her, he was going to toilet.
She said at about 5:00 a.m., their youngest child woke up to sweep the compound only to find him, hanging from the tree.
Amoako’s friends told The Ghanaian Times, he had been complaining of the awkward behaviour of his wife over the past weeks and even threatened leaving the house, if she did not change her attitude.
They indicated that the wife had been denying him sex and did not respect him, because he is now financially handicapped.
They revealed that, on one occasion he caught the wife having sex with another man on their matrimonial bed.
Amoako’s employer also told The Ghanaian Times that, on Saturday February 15, he sang dirges the whole day at work, but refused to reveal the problem, after several proddings by his colleagues.
The body has been deposited at the Akyem-Tafo Government Hospital for autopsy.
