The Men’s Fellowship of the Kaneshie congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has presented a cheque for GH¢2,000 and GH¢500 cash, to the students of the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, Accra.
Mr. Daniel Asiedu, the president of the fellowship, made the presentation and it was received by William Owusu-Gyimah, the chairman of the Presbyterian Students Union.
According to Mr. Asiedu, the money is for the upkeep of the students, as well as assist them to buy literature, for the study of the gospel.
He encouraged them to apply themselves wholeheartedly to whatever training they are being taken through, with the view that people will count on them to lead them to Christ and salvation.
While urging the students to live lifestyles worthy of emulation, Mr. Asiedu commended them for offering themselves to be trained for God’s work.
He appealed to other congregation of the church, across the country, as well as the general public, to also extend assistance to the students to enable them to prepare adequately for the tasked ahead of them.
The chairman of the Presbyterian Students Union,Mr Owusu-Gyimah, expressed his gratitude to the Men’s Fellowship for the kind gesture, and promised to make judicious use of the money.
“We need financial assistance for material things, and though the head office gives us daily allowances, which is greatly appreciated, the church cannot do it alone, that is why we greatly appreciate this assistance from the Men’s Fellowship, to enhance our studies”, he stressed
As a sign of appreciation, the students presented special branded calendars to the Men’s Fellowship.
The school started in 1942 in Kumasi before moving to its present location, Legon, and has trained over 100,000 ministers of the gospel.
