Cold Blooded Murder…Man, 65, Killed Over Married Woman

A sixty-five-year-old Man, Kwame Alanyo has been murdered in cold blood at Kentenkren in the New Juaben Municipality of the Eastern Region for allegedly chasing a married woman.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, pending autopsy.

Narrating the incident to the Daily Heritage, the wife of the deceased, Salamatu Yaaya said the incident happened around 5:30am on Wednesday.

She revealed that the family woke up early morning only to find the deceased stabbed to death in the throat and in a pool of blood in the house. Salamatu explained that, the deceased has been sleeping on the veranda for many years due to the heat in the room; therefore, his death came as a surprise to them since the family never anticipated it, though she expressed discomfort several times about the deceased husband’s acts in recent times.

She said the police were informed about the incident and after inventories were taken, they took the body to the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Koforidua. When asked if the family suspects any foul play that might have led to the murder of the deceased, she answered in the negative.

However, information gathered by the paper indicates that the deceased is alleged to have been having affair with another man’s wife with his rival warning him on several occasions.

Assembly Member of the area, Alexander Opoku Twum who was at the scene told the paper that the community has never witnessed any such crime; therefore, the appealed to the police to investigate the matter for the culprits to be punished.

The deceased, a farmer, left behind, a wife and six children.
