A suspected armed robber was shot dead by residents of Down Town, near Kasoa on Sunday.
Seven wedding rings were found on “No One”, 32, described by the police as notorious.
The Kasoa District Police Commander, Superintendent Samuel Punobyin, told The Ghanaian Times here yesterday that on February 16, at about 6 p.m., the deceased, dressed in a black ‘T’ shirt over black jeans, was found dead with gunshot wounds, and a locally manufactured pistol by his side.
A victim of a previous night’s robbery, identified him as one of the armed robbers who attacked and robbed him of his personal effects.
Supt. Punobyin said the seven wedding rings found in the deceased’s pocket have been identified by the owners.
The body has been deposited at the Police Hospital, Accra, for autopsy.
