“For Me It Was Germany From Day One” – Jerome Boateng

Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng claims he told Ghana FA officials he won’t play for the Black Stars six years ago.

Jerome is a half-brother to Schalke 04 super-star Kevin-Prince Boateng who plays for Ghana.

After convincing Kevin to play for Ghana prior to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, it became clear the FA had tried to lure Jerome to play for Ghana.

After being paired with his half brother in the same group at the WC, Jerome has revealed officials from the Ghana FA tried to lure him to play for Ghana.

“For me it was Germany from day one. It is where I grew up and played for the youth teams,” he said.

“Ghana did contact me but I told them and my dad that I was sure I wanted to play for Germany.”

Jerome played against his brother Kevin at the 2010 World Cup where Germany beat Ghana 1-0.
