Michael Ashong And Others Sanctioned

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association has suspended Starke FC’s player, Michael Ashong from playing football for six months.

This was in breach of conduct.

A communiqué signed by Prosper Harrison Addo and copied to GNA Sports indicates that the player physically and verbally attacked referee Emmanuel Ansah on the field during his side’s game with Charity Stars.

It said, ‘‘You were charged with misconduct for a breach of articles 35 of the Ghana Football Association regulations in respect of this fixture. It was alleged that you attacked referee Emmanuel Ansah on the field of play, physically and verbally abused him, using insulting words on the match official and had to be rescued by the Security Personnel.

“It is further alleged that your breach of article 35 of the GFA Regulations included a threat of harm and future harm to the referees when you threatened to visit harm on them’’.

Ashong further failed to appear before Disciplinary Committee and thus suspended from active play for the next six months..

Meanwhile, Coach Ahmed Torgbor of SS64 FC has been fined 200 cedis for misconduct with 11 others equally reprimanded.

They are the Owner of Samaria Ladies FC, Anas T. Seidu, Manager of Samaria Ladies FC, Owner of Densu Borussia FC, Kwesi Aheto of Densu Borussia FC, Evans Ofori of Densu Borussia FC and Daniel Haddey of Densu Borussia FC.

The rest are Kofi Broll of Densu Borussia FC, Asare Bediako of Densu Borussia FC, Amo Dodoo of Densu Borussia FC and Obama of Densu Borussia FC.
